Fruit-Heavy Monday
This morning, I decided to wake up 30min earlier than I usually do. I’m exhausted, but it really makes a difference when I can give myself the extra time in the morning to slow down, check my emails and prepare my food for the day.
I want to start documenting my food a little bit more on here as I would like to see what I am eating. Believe it or not, taking pictures of meals or food and posting them actually helps me with intuitive eating. When I take the time to prepare and arrange something nicely, it not only lets me slow down to feel my hunger signals, but it makes the meal special.
So lets start this documentation experiment shall we?
To work I brought a segmented grapefruit, banana, lazy girl trail mix (“recipe” coming soon) and some coffee by Emeril.
Im not usually hungry in the morning until I get to work so it took me a while to start eating. I ate my grapefruit and then Caroline gave me one of these babys.
She made cranberry white chocolate scones over the weekend which were very good! I had half in the morning and the other half when it hit noon. I was lucky enough to get two so im freezing the other for a rainy day.
I was hungry when I got home for lunch so I had the NGI special . . . AKA leftovers from yesterdays grain class.
This included a millet burger, quinoa salad and some polenta cakes. I didn’t finish this all so its going back to work with me with the banana I didn’t eat from this morning.
With this too . . .
A juicy pomegranate that was part of the reduced produce bounty on Saturday. You cant beat a perfectly ripe pomegranate for 75 cents!
I was able to get a glug of juice out of it after I cut it ![]()
I’m sure ill make a huge mess at work eating it.
I am pretty damn tired so some sleeping in is in order for tomorrow. Just a little bit though. I have way too much to do before school!
Do you go out of your way to make your food look special?
